FIELD THEORY

61” x 210”
found organic matter, steel pins

Field Theory looks through the lens of theoretical physics to explore human questions of belonging, meaning, and the tension between separation and wholeness. Delicate sculptural objects of clay, wood, paper, metal and found natural elements combine to form shapes evocative of ancient human ancestry, echoing our place in the natural world. Their earthly physicality anchors otherwise mysterious concepts in our own space, pulling them into the world of direct experience. Repeating shapes and symbols of transformation abound, while series of grids become fields of possibility and records of time, questioning the appearance of separation in a world that we are discovering to be deeply and fundamentally interconnected.
